1ST DAY Welcome to Turkey! (25.February.2012, Saturday)
The participants will be welcomed at Ataturk Airport according to their arrival times and will be transferred to their hotel in Istanbul. As we do not want you to carry your ski materials to the hotel, we are still discussing with officials about leaving them in lockers at Ataturk airport. The participants stay at the five star EliteWorld hotel in Taksim, the center of Istanbul. The ones who check-in their hotel early and have a free time can walk around and see Istanbul by themselves. There wil be a welcome desk at the hotel. You can get your rooms, SCIJ meeting bags and badges from there. And you can have a Turkish bath if you have time. The first 50 person who wishes to go to a Turkish bath can use one session in historical Hurrem Sultan Bath. And those who does not want to bath can visit and shop at Grand Bazaar (Kapalı Çarşı) with the guides.
Because the participants arrive at Istanbul at different times, an authentic dinner is organised instead of a formal one at Cicek Pasaji which is very close to the hotel and in a walking distance. So the participants will not be in a hurry and miss the dinner. If you arrive very late, a light dinner will be waiting for you.
2ND DAY (26.February.2012 Sunday)
The participants tour the city on Sunday. There will be a Bosporus tour and a brunch on boat hosted by Turkey Culture and Tourism Ministry. Minister Ertugrul Gunay is expected to honor the tour. A sight seeing tour follows the brunch. We will visit Hagia Sophia Museum, Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace.
The guests will have their dinner at Binbirdirek Sarnici at their second day in Istanbul and after dinner we return to hotel.
3RD DAY Departure to Erzurum (27. February.2012 Monday)
After the breakfast at the hotel, the participants leave the hotel for Ataturk Airport and board on Erzurum plane at 10.00. The plane arrives at Erzurum Airport at 12.00. We will stay at 4 star Dedeman hotel near the Palandoken Mountain.
The participants do free ski with the guides at Palandoken after lunch.

-Ski show with tourches and flags. After folk dancing and shows, there will be the parade of the SCIJ teams with flags.
20.00 Cocktail prolonge with the participation of local officials.
23.00 Party at the hotel

Departure to Istanbul
1. The first plane departs from Erzurum airport at 07.00 am and arrives at İstanbul at 10.05 am.
2. The second plane departs from Erzurum Airport at 12.10 pm and arrives at İstanbul at 14.10 pm.
Our guests will benefit from CIP Lounge at Istanbul Ataturk Airport.
Those who want to participate in the post tours after their return to Istanbul will start their journey with the tour agency.

1er Jour: Bienvenue en Turquie! (Samedi 25 Fevrier 2012)
Nous attendons les participants a l’aeroport Atatürk d’İstanbul. Une table de reception sera mis en place afin de recevoir chaque participants selon leur horaire d'arrive. İls seront transfere a leur hotel sans beacoup attendre. L'hotel, cinq etoiles, EliteWorld, est situe au coeur d'İstanbul, pour pouvoir donne la possibilite de visiter la ville a ceux qui arrivent plutot. Le materiel du ski seront garde dans l'aeroport afin d'eviter le transport inutile a l'hotel. La table de reception se trouvant a l’hotel, s’occupera de distribuer les chambres ainsi que les sacs, cartes d’identite et le programme aux participants. Les 50 participants desireux seront reçu au Hamam historique de Hurrem Sultan, aussi ceux qui le desirent pourront etre ammenes aux Grand Bazar Turque (Kapalı Çarşı) pour pouvoir visiter ou faire du shopping.
Pour diner, il serait plus facile de se retrouver dans un endroit qui soit joignable a pieds comme le Çiçek Pasaji, plutôt qu’un diner officiel afin que les personnes venant plus tard puissent rejoindre les autres facilement. Pour ceux venant très en retard, il y aura un diner léger a l'hotel.
2. Jour, Dimanche 26 Février,
Les invités passeront ce jour à visiter Istanbul. Apres le petit déjeuner, un tour offert par Le Ministere du Tourisme et de Culture, sur le Bosphore avec un petit gouter sera realise, avec peut etre la participation du Mr. Le Ministre Günay. Apres le tour en mer, l’après midi; un tour dans la péninsule historique, La Mosquée Bleue, Sainte Sophie, Le palais de Topkapi, suivi par un diner avec un programme de divertissement avec un diner au Binbirdirek Sarnici sera préparé.
3. Jour: Lundi 27 Fevrier: le déplacement vers Erzurum
Apres que tous les participants se soient retrouvés à Istanbul, lundi se fera un déplacement en bus vers l’aéroport Atatürk d’Istanbul pour aller à Erzurum en avion. L’horaire de vol est a 10.00 heures. Aussi, le matériel de ski laissé à l’aéroport au préalable sera embarqué dans les avions automatiquement. Les participants auront juste à prendre le boarding pass qui leur seront donné, ainsi que leur carte d’identité pour passer du spécial desk afin de pouvoir rejoindre l’avion plus facilement.
A 13.00h: Arrivée a Erzurum et transfert a l’hôtel Dedeman ou les personnes seront accueillis dans des chambre doubles. Les clés de chambre seront distribuées selon une liste préparée à l’avant. Après l’installation, le déjeuner.
15.00 H: Le matériel de ski sera distribué aux participants et les pistes seront présentés a l’aide de guides. Ceux le désirant pourront faire du ski librement.
16.00 H: Réunion des Capitaines.
18.30 H: Cérémonie d’ouverture avec drapeaux et torches accompagné accompagné d’un Show folklorique.
20.00 H: Apres la cérémonie d’ouverture, un cocktail prolongé avec la participation des directeurs locaux.
23.00 H: Divertissement a l’hôtel.
4. Jour, Mardi 28 Février, Erzurum
08.00 Petit déjeuner
Ski libre au Palandöken
13.00 Déjeuner
Présentation de la piste de Konakli l’après midi.
17.00 Panel de discussion sur la liberté d’expression dans le journalisme.
20.00 La nuit des Nations dans l’hôtel suivi d’une soirée dans la discothèque.
5. Jour, Mercredi 29 Février, Erzurum
08.00 Petit déjeuner.
La distribution des listes de compétition.
08.30 Déplacement vers Konakli.
09.30 Compétition de ski alpin.
13.30 Déjeuner a l’air libre; soupe et sucuk ekmek.
Ski libre et entrainement de cross country a Kandilli dans l’après midi.
16.30 Réunion des capitaines.
17:00 Conférence sur le role regional et international de la Turquie dans un monde qui change.
20.00 Diner, dans un restaurant locale, les Maisons d’Erzurum.
6. eme Jour, Jeudi 1er mars, Erzurum
08.00 Petit déjeuner et distribution des listes de compétition.
09.00 Départ vers le lieux de compétition cross country à Kandilli.
10.30 Compétitions de course a pieds avec ski.
13.30 Déjeuner a l’air libre avec soupe Hollandaise et sucuk ekmek.
Apres midi:
Ski libre au Palandöken.
16.30 Réunion des Capitaines
19.30. Diner de la part du Ministre de Sport et distribution des prix.
7. jour; Vendredi 2 mars

A l’aéroport d’Istanbul, les hôtes seront accueillis par le CIP de Turkish Airlines jusqu’a leur départ.

ONE STEP FORWARD FOR SAFETY DURING SCIJ MEETINGS
Dear national boards, dear friends,
During the last years SCIJ strongly suggested to all participants of International SCIJ Meetings to use the helmet for the giant slalom competition and, generally, to ski.
This year we wish to take one step forward, which we hope all the National SCIJ Sections will agree on. In fact, the SCIJ IC decided that it will be mandatory to use the helmet during the giant slalom competition.
Therefore, anybody who is not wearing the helmet at the start of the race will not be allowed to compete. We think this procedure is correct to increase safety during our Meetings. Actually, we suggest to all “Erzurum 2012” participants to always keep their helmets on when ski.
Please, forward this memo to all new and old members of your National SCIJ Section.

Chers amis,
Au cours de ces dernières années, le SCIJ a fortement conseillé à tous les participants aux rencontre de porter le casque pour la compétition de slalom géant et de manière générale pour la pratique du ski.
Cette année, nous souhaitons aller plus loin encore, en espérant que toutes les sections du SCIJ adhéreront à cette démarche: il sera dorénavant obligatoire de porter le casque pour prendre part au géant. Par conséquent, toute personne qui se présentera au portillon de départ sans casque ne sera pas autorisée à concourir.
Nous pensons que cette mesure est la seule possible pour améliorer la sécurité durant nos rencontres.
Nous en profitons pour suggérer également à tous les participants à la prochaine rencontre "Erzurum 2012" de toujours porter le casque pendant le ski.
